Sic bo table: three dice, 216 outcomes
A sic bo table is a layout of bet areas for one shake of three dice. Every area is a different way of covering some of the same 216 outcomes, and counting them is the quickest route to understanding the game. Three dice with six faces each give 6 × 6 × 6 = 216 ordered outcomes, which a short enumeration confirms.
The table below uses Evolution’s Super Sic Bo page for the bet definitions and counts what each one covers.
| Bet | Outcomes covered, of 216 | Share | Working |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small (total 4 to 10, loses to any triple) | 105 | 48.61% | 107 in the range, less 2-2-2 and 3-3-3 |
| Big (total 11 to 17, loses to any triple) | 105 | 48.61% | 107 in the range, less 4-4-4 and 5-5-5 |
| Odd total (loses to any triple) | 105 | 48.61% | 108 odd totals less 1-1-1, 3-3-3, 5-5-5 |
| Even total (loses to any triple) | 105 | 48.61% | 108 even totals less 2-2-2, 4-4-4, 6-6-6 |
| Any Triple | 6 | 2.78% | 1-1-1 to 6-6-6 |
| One named Triple | 1 | 0.46% | one outcome |
| One named Double (two or three dice show it) | 16 | 7.41% | 3 × 5 = 15, plus the triple |
| One two-dice Combination | 30 | 13.89% | 15 combinations exist: 6 × 5 ÷ 2 |
| Single on exactly one die | 75 | 34.72% | 3 × 5 × 5 |
| Single on exactly two dice | 15 | 6.94% | 3 × 5 |
| Single on all three dice | 1 | 0.46% | one outcome |
| Single on at least one die | 91 | 42.13% | 216 less 5 × 5 × 5 |
Small, Big, Odd and Even each cover 105, so 111 outcomes lose them: the 105 on the other side plus the 6 triples.
Sic bo odds: how often each total comes up
The Total bet pays on one sum of the three dice, and the sums are not equally likely. Evolution’s page lists 14 Total areas, for the sums 4 to 17. The counts below add up to 216.
| Total | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Outcomes of 216 | 1 | 3 | 6 | 10 | 15 | 21 | 25 | 27 |
| Total | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 | 16 | 17 | 18 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Outcomes of 216 | 27 | 25 | 21 | 15 | 10 | 6 | 3 | 1 |
The middle totals are common: 10 and 11 cover 27 outcomes each, 12.50% apiece. The sums of 3 and 18 are triples, and so are not Total areas. Using the counts, the total of 4 or 17 comes up on 3 of 216 outcomes, which is 1.39%.
Sic bo payouts: one published example
Evolution’s page says each bet type has its own payout rate and prints none, so the payouts here come from Massachusetts’s published sic bo rules as a named example. They are never a live table’s payouts.
| Bet | Massachusetts example | Outcomes covered, of 216 |
|---|---|---|
| Small or Big | 1 to 1 | 105 |
| Any two-dice combination | 5 to 1 | 30 |
| Totals of 9 to 12 | 6 to 1 | 25 or 27 |
| Totals of 8 and 13 | 8 to 1 | 21 |
| Two of a kind (a double) | 8 to 1 | 16 |
| Totals of 7 and 14 | 12 to 1 | 15 |
| Totals of 6 and 15 | 14 to 1 | 10 |
| Totals of 5 and 16 | 18 to 1 | 6 |
| Any three of a kind | 24 to 1 | 6 |
| Totals of 4 and 17 | 50 to 1 | 3 |
| Three of a kind (named) | 150 to 1 | 1 |
Reading down, the payout rises as the count falls, which is the shape of every table game’s layout. A labelled example: ₱100 on Small wins on 105 of 216 outcomes, 48.61% of rolls, and a triple on any face loses it.
You want to know how much the table pays on a bet that is not in this list
Open the table’s rules screen and read its payout list for that bet. Because payouts differ by table, this page prints no house-edge figure for sic bo.
For the table families around it, see the Evo live tables overview. The roulette wheel layout counts a single-zero wheel the same way, and a baccarat betting system tests what a staking pattern can change. Studio background is in game providers behind the live tables.
FAQ
How many outcomes does a sic bo roll have?
Two hundred and sixteen. Each of the three dice has six faces, so 6 × 6 × 6 = 216 ordered outcomes. Every bet on the table covers a count of those 216.
Why do Small and Big lose to a triple?
Evolution's Super Sic Bo page defines Small as a total of 4 to 10 and Big as 11 to 17, and both lose when the three dice show the same face. Two triples fall in each range, which is why each bet covers 105 outcomes and not 107.
What do sic bo payouts look like?
Massachusetts's published rules, a named example, pay 1 to 1 on Small and Big, 8 to 1 on a double, 24 to 1 on any triple, 150 to 1 on a named triple and up to 50 to 1 on a total of 4 or 17. A live table's own rules screen gives its payouts.
Which sic bo total comes up most?
Totals of 10 and 11, with 27 of the 216 outcomes each, which is 12.50% apiece. Totals of 3 and 18 have one outcome each, 0.46%.
