666JILI BSP Regulated: What It Means for a Wallet or a Bank
BSP regulated means a bank or non-bank financial institution is supervised by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

BSP regulated is a statement about the institution that holds your money, not about the website you pay. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the country’s central bank, supervises banks, e-money issuers and a range of other financial institutions, and it publishes the names. If you move pesos by wallet or bank, knowing where those lists are lets you check the financial side yourself. The gaming side is checked on PAGCOR’s lists, covered on the PAGCOR regulatory pillar.
What the Bangko Sentral publishes
Two lists do most of the work for a player.
| List | Heading as printed | Date | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Directory of Banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions | Updated as of 12 October 2026 | Read 12 October 2026 | Which institution types the Bangko Sentral lists, filterable by type |
| List of BSP Supervised Electronic Money Issuers (EMIs) | As of 31 May 2026 | Read 6 October 2026 | Which banks and non-banks may issue e-money |
The directory’s filter offers these institution types: universal and commercial banks, thrift banks, rural and cooperative banks, digital banks, offshore banking units, representative offices, non-banks with quasi-banking functions, and non-banks without quasi-banking functions. The second group includes remittance agents, lending investors and trust corporations, so a name in the directory still has to be the type you expect.
BSP supervised: how to search the directory
- Open bsp.gov.ph by typing it, and find Directory of Banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions.
- Read the “Updated as of” date.
- Pick the institution type from the filter that matches what you use: a bank, a digital bank or a non-bank.
- Search the company name from your app’s terms page, not the app’s marketing name.
- If you find nothing, try the EMI list below before you decide.
A name can be right and the type wrong. A lending company that appears in the directory is not an e-money issuer, so the type column matters as much as the name.
EMI license: what the EMI list shows
An EMI is an electronic money issuer. The Bangko Sentral’s list, headed “As of 31 May 2026”, is split in two. Section A is EMI-Banks, and the edition read on 6 October 2026 counts 29. Section B is EMI-Non-Bank Financial Institutions, and the edition read on 6 October 2026 counts 40.
The search term “emi license” usually means this list: it is the quickest way to see which institutions the Bangko Sentral records as electronic money issuers.
Section B prints the head of each institution, an address and a contact number, which helps you match a company name to a real office. Maya Philippines, Incorporated is entry 19 of Section B in that edition. That entry only tells you the wallet’s issuer is on the list. It says nothing about any casino, and this site makes no link between the two.
BSP regulated and QR Ph payments
The Bangko Sentral’s QR Ph page describes a national QR code standard that any participating bank or non-bank EMI can scan, used for person-to-person transfers and person-to-merchant payments through InstaPay. A QR Ph code points your payment at an account, so check whose account before you confirm. Read the QR code scam red flags before you pay a code a stranger sent you.
When a payment goes wrong
You raised a concern with your bank or e-wallet and it stays unresolved.
The Bangko Sentral’s consumer assistance page says you can file a complaint through the BSP Online Buddy, called BOB, which guides you through its Consumer Assistance Mechanism. The alternative is the Complaints, Inquiries and Requests form, and the page prints a direct line at (02) 5306-2584.
A link or message claims to come from your bank and asks for a PIN or OTP.
Close it and run the checks on the scam checker page. The Bangko Sentral’s guidance, as reported by the Philippine Information Agency, warns that scammers impersonate banks and e-wallets to get a PIN, OTP or password.
Reading payment rails in general
The generic pages explain how each Philippine rail works without tying any rail to one site. Start with the casino payment methods in the Philippines hub, then the Maya casino payments explainer for one wallet, described in general.
FAQ
What does BSP regulated mean?
It means the institution is a bank or non-bank financial institution that the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas supervises. It describes the wallet or bank holding your money, and it says nothing about whether a gaming site is licensed.
Where does the Bangko Sentral publish the institutions it supervises?
On its Financial Stability pages, under Directory of Banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions, and in a separate List of BSP Supervised Electronic Money Issuers. Open both from bsp.gov.ph and read the date each prints.
Does BSP regulated mean a casino is legal?
No. The Bangko Sentral supervises banks, e-money issuers and similar institutions, while gaming brands and domains are recorded by PAGCOR. Use the two sets of lists for two different questions.
How do I check my e-wallet is on the Bangko Sentral list?
Open the List of BSP Supervised Electronic Money Issuers, find the section for EMI-Non-Bank Financial Institutions, and search the wallet's company name as it appears in the app's terms. Maya Philippines, Incorporated, for example, is entry 19 in that section of the edition read on 6 October 2026.
